Having a bit of a rough time and need some help s-MOO-thing things out with your skin? We’ve carefully designed a non-abrasive, facial exfoliant to help you buff away the day and turn over a new leaf to start fresh. We believe that dual exfoliation (meaning enzymes and non-scratchy physical particles) is the most effective way to gently exfoliate. Making soothing and gentle products is always our priority, so we made this suitable for daily use, for all skin types.
Our unique formula contains a very calculated percentage (1.5%) of Salicylic Acid (BHA) which are plant-derived enzymes. These enzymes are attracted to oil and exfoliate deep into the pores. It’s the best thing for a deep cleanse and to address impurities that already exist.
We’ve also used Rice Bran powder to physically exfoliate as it has a very delicate physical structure and contains antioxidant-rich, moisturizing proteins. The combination of these two magnificent exfoliating components will leave your skin noticeably fresh, glowing and soft. But wait, there’s more! We’ve also added Bentonite Clay to draw out impurities and leave your skin feeling fresh, and Marshmallow Root to soothe and calm skin.

How do you use the Gentle Exfoliating Powder?
To get the most out of this gentle giant, wash your face thoroughly with your favourite, natural cleanser (we make a few!). Dispense a few shakes of the powder into wet hands and rub them together to create a paste and massage all over your face in circular motions. Add a few more drops of water if the paste is too dry and crumbly and leave on the skin for at least 5 minutes to create a nice and nourishing mask while you do your other showerly duties like hair washing. Once rinsed and washed clean, follow with your favourite serum and moisturizer for an easy peasy skincare routine.
Why don't we make different cleansers for different skin types?
We often get asked why we don’t make different cleansers specific to different skin types such as dry, oily, normal or combination skin (although we used to). While we believe that people have different skin types, if you look closely at ingredient labels, you’ll notice that there often isn't much difference in the ingredient lists between products for different skin types. It's kind of like pet food made specifically for indoor pets and outdoor pets (which is actually a thing). All our cleansers are suitable for all skin types, but the cleanser format you choose, whether it’s cream, foam, oil etc. will depend on your skincare goals and personal preference.
What other products do you recommend for blemish-prone skin?
While our products work well on their own, we think they work best together. Teamwork makes the dream work! To best care for blemish-prone and oilier skin types, we recommend using this cleanser conjunction with a soothing and regenerative serum or face oil like our Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Seed Oil (100%), and our Blemish Cleansing Moisturizer which we specifically designed to help control some common causes for blemishes and breakouts while nurturing the skin with healthy and gentle ingredients. Approaching your skin concern at every step in your routine will allow the products you use to work together synergistically to best achieve your skincare goals.
I see fragrance in the ingredients list, what is the fragrance exactly?
The main concern with most fragrances is that they’re often made with phthalates. Of course, we don’t use these in our formulas because they’re well-known to be irritating to the skin, often causing dryness and itching. Instead, we use a blend of non-irritating, hypoallergenic fragrances that are suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Each part of this fragrance blend is below the EU’s allergy threshold, and we have used it in many of our products for years now without any reactions. The fragrances we use are proprietary blends from a company we work with, so unfortunately, we cannot reveal their exact details. Think of it as our top secret, reaction-free recipe!
