After hearing and speaking to a large number of nurses and practitioners that had skin problems due to repeated use of alcohol on their hands, we set out to make a natural anti-bacterial cleanser that protected the skin.

We spent 2 years experimenting and trialling a variety of natural blends and carriers before we achieved the results shown below for cleaning hands.

We started with a moisturising base of Aloe Vera and Natural Vitamin E.  We then added a blend of 5 different essential oils each targeting different germs.

When it comes to fragrance, we know everyone has their own preferences. Some find it crisp and fresh, while others prefer odourless. We’re aware that this blend may not be to everyone’s liking, but thought it most important to cater for those who have troubles with other hand washes. In order to receive some feedback, MooGoo sent approximately 20 bottles to nurses and practitioners who volunteered to give their honest opinion. We have attached their responses here so you can see the range of opinions.

Directions

Make sure all “organic” matter is removed (dirt) and massage the cream onto the hands. Ensure you get both the tips and in between the fingers. Rub until absorbed, it’s as easy as that!

Ingredients:

Aqua (H2O's Fancy Name), Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera), Sclerotium Gum (Food Grade Thickener), Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Oil, Citrus Sinensis (Orange) Oil, Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt), Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Citrus Limonum (Lemon) Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Oil, Acetum (Apple Cider Vinegar), Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract .

Ingredient Description
Aqua (H2O's Fancy Name) When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding, but we can’t fight bureaucracy. We aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes. If we used only oils and actives, the cream would feel hot on the skin as the oils coat the skin and it becomes an occlusive. By making this cream with water, the cream penetrates the skin better which is more moisturising, soothing and cooling
Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Oil Thyme Oil is a rich and powerful, warming essential oil. It is known for killing different types of bacteria.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera) Aloe Vera is a flowering succulent plant that stores water in enlarged fleshy leaves, stems, or roots. The leaf juice contains many minerals vital to the growth process and healthy function of all the body's systems, and particularly known for its healing and soothing benefits (including skin and oral health!).
Sclerotium Gum (Food Grade Thickener) Sclerotium Gum is a natural food grade thickening agent that promotes hydration of the skin and the product itself. It also helps to stabilise the emulsion of other ingredients in a product.
Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea tree) Oil Tea tree oil is taken from the leaves of the Melaleuca Alternifolia which is native to Australia.
Citrus Sinensis (Orange) Oil Orange Oil is extracted from the peel of the fruit. it’s packed with powerful antioxidants.
Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt) Piroctone Olamine is an organic compound. It is a non-irritating anti-yeast ingredient which helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould
Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E) We use the more expensive natural Vitamin E in our creams, not synthetic. Natural Vitamin E has a light brown colour so discoulours products a little. It also has a distinctive scent. However Natural Vitamin E is much more bioavialable  than synthetic Vitamin E.
Citrus Limonum (Lemon) Oil
Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Oil Rosemary oil is extracted from the plant Rosmarinus Officinalis. It is commonly used for its purifying and cleansing properties. It’s a calming and soothing oil for the skin when diluted.
Acetum (Apple Cider Vinegar) Made from apples, Apple Cider Vinegar is a very powerful natural ingredient which helps tone the skin and also lowers pH to that of the skin. We love the smell of the cream with this and honey.
Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract Skin Care needs to stay pure from yeast and mould. That is why ingredients like Parabens etc are used by a lot of companies. These work great at achieving their aim, but a lot of our “customers”prefer products without parabens.  We worked for over a year to develop a preservation system based on Hops Extract. All our creams have now been checked for preservative efficacy using the British Pharmacopeia test. We are very proud that we are probably one of the first companies to develop this natural and edible anti-bacterial system into our creams.

We have made 2 sizes. 270g for home or work and a 100g travel size. (Most travellers know one of the best ways to avoid getting sick is to wash the hands before eating or drinking).
